First in the world for the creation of dental prostheses designed with a system for detection of REAL mouth movements.

Why use ITAKA?

An expert dental technician, or a skilled dental surgeon, can always achieve good results on every patient. But why waste time and energy to reach a valid result when creating a dental prosthesis?

Today it is more important than ever to give the patient a good result in the shortest time possible. A celebrated doctor told us: “At the end of each work I always hope to see the patient go away happy…”.

TAKA is able to give this support to technicians and clinicians in the dental sector. ITAKA does not replace the experience of professionals and technicians, but it furthers their skills by enabling them to obtain the finest result in terms of dental prostheses possible today in a patient’s mouth.

When, at the end of the work, the patient thanks you for restoring their teeth to their mouth, when the patient feels they have never had a problem with their teeth, the trinity of doctor, dental technician and ITAKA has reached its goal.

Do you want a fine result for your patient in a short time?
ITAKA helps you right through the work cycle.

About us

ITAKA is the ideal solution to restore to the patient a prosthesis that is perfectly balanced in its individual movement with appropriate solutions for all types of prosthetic rehabilitation, including dysfunctional ones.

In 2014, Beppe Rampulla, a specialist in the solution of complex cases, met Luca Pighin, an expert entrepreneur of the sector.

And so ITAKA was born.
Number 1 in the world for the creation of dental prostheses designed with real systems of movement and detection of the mouth analogically and digitally.

As from 2022, ITAKA LAB centres have also been created to offer clinics and dental technicians suitable technical assistance and, especially, professional support from the greatest experts in this technology.

From 1920 to now

Over the last 100 years, the Monson sphere or cap has been considered one of the most valid systems with which to evaluate, analyse and programme how a mouth ought to move in a correct development and functional use. It is therefore one of the fundamental gnathological principles and is the basis for ITAKA WAY MED’s data management and work protocol functioning. ITAKA WAY MED is the first company in the world – and this is a matter of true pride for production Made in Italy – to have introduced this concept into the digital dental sector combined with the recording of free mandibular movement. This innovative use has made us aware of the need to inform all clinical and laboratory dental operators, from all branches and related specialities, of the way this approach can be the safest and most functional in the elaborate and varied conditions of its use, rendering every complex situation simple and secure.

The Cyclops system

Unlike other extant technologies, ITAKA provides a precise indication of mouth movement, including hard-to-diagnose dysfunctions, basing itself on patients’ real data.
ITAKA can reveal, through the patient’s natural mouth movements, the information necessary to create the dental prosthesis without the need for subsequent adjustments.

The Arthur articulator

The Arthur articulator replicates the movements recorded analogically without use of CAD. It is used for final finishing and trial before insertion in the oral cavity.

It replicates exactly the movements recorded analogically, which means that until now, when the digital movements were recorded with CAD systems, we had one result. Now, however, the same data and digital elaborations can be transferred to an analogical articulator robot able to replicate exactly every one of the patient’s movements: opening, closure and gothic arch with the various mastication phases recorded.

ITAKA software

Within the ITAKA system, alongside the Cyclops system, which acquires data through the facial scanner with a reading of the mandibular movements, there is also the means to reach the final part of the creation with ARTHUR, the dynamic articulator.

Software for clinics
The Cyclops management software. Simple to use, it displays the patient’s data, guiding the doctor, with a time commitment of 10-15 minutes.

Software for laboratories
Software for management of the Arthur articulator, developed to repeat perfectly the movements recorded by Cyclops, with special devices for easy laboratory use.

The ITAKA protocol

This takes its starting point from the range of experience matured, developed and perfected from 2014 until today. This protocol is continually evolving to simplify use of the means to achieve the result and obtain a prosthesis generated according to each single patient’s individual specifics. The protocol was conceived and developed by Beppe Rampulla, who had already implemented it, inserting first facial scansion, followed by the Monson sphere, the golden section, the virtual articulator and a real articulator inserted in the CAD. Also used in the protocol is the CBCT and Model Positioning, a system that enables models to be moulded directly by 3D printer and placed in the articulator. This protocol is the basis of the training provided by ITAKA LABS, laboratories managed by technicians trained to use the ITAKA protocol and give technical support and consultation to clinics using Cyclops, enabling dentists to work in complete autonomy, exploiting fully their know-how. ITAKA TRAINERS, moreover, are technicians specially qualified in use of ITAKA tools and protocol, and train specialists throughout Italy. Special training coordinated by Dr. Domenico Massironi is available for professional dental surgeons.
